How to persuade people? How to change their behavior?

This is explained in the article by Jonah Berger entitled "How to persuade people to change their behavior?" HBR- Harvard Business Review.

Let us summarize the basic concept here in a few lines.

It proves difficult to influence people's decisions because they tend to maintain control over their own actions. Therefore, rather than trying to persuade people, it would suffice to "simply" convince them that they are the ones who want to change.

There are three ways to do this:

  1. HIGHLIGHT A BLANK SPACE:

    emphasize a disconnect between their thoughts and actions leads to an increase in people's sense of freedom;

  2. ASKING QUESTIONS:

    asking to allow free will, rather than making statements;

  3. ASK FOR LESS:

    Reduce the scope of the request.

In short, it is possible to change something if we understand what does not allow change. We will then need to make use of tactics to overcome the limitations we impose on ourselves.
